Bringing together over 70 works spanning more than six decades, this unique anniversary auction celebrates the richness, diversity and dynamism of art from the Middle East and North Africa.

The Sharjah Art Foundation president and director, described by TIME as an “Art Ambassador,” has transformed Sharjah’s artistic landscape into an international platform for contemporary art, cross-cultural dialogue, and marginalized voices.

Works by the late Iranian artist Monir Shahroudy Farmanfarmaian are currently on view at Kunstmuseum Luzern as part of Shirana Shahbazi: All at Once. An Interplay with Li Tavor.

The multidisciplinary platform runs until Sept. 18 and spans painting, sculpture, photography, digital art, installation and mixed media.

Zohreh Mehraban said: “We must be able to present our artists to international standards, translate local narratives into a global language, and demonstrate that art from the region is not a ‘special subject’ for a global audience, but part of the contemporary conversation of world art.”

The exhibition is on view through November 22 at the Abbazia di San Gregorio in Venice.
