Hamidreza Shafiei; A Million-Dollar Banana's Tale

Like many of you, my fellow artists and art enthusiasts, I find it astounding that the reputable auction house Sotheby's values a banana duct taped to a wall at between one and one and a half million dollars. However, I wrote on the current state of unpredictability in the art market two weeks ago.

ArtDayMe : Hamidreza Shafiei, Vesta Color's manager, states that in an article titled "Unpredictability in the Art World Due to Idea Orientation," he wrote: "In 1917, art theorists witnessed a conceptual earthquake in the world of art when Marcel Duchamp showed a porcelain urinal as a work of art."

He goes on to say that a duct-taped banana artist Maurizio Cattelan will be offered on November 20 at Sotheby's Now and Contemporary Evening Auction in New York, with a price range of $1.0 million (£771,275) to $1.5 million (£1.2 million). On November 4, the controversial banana was shown at Sotheby's Dubai offices in the DIFC.duct-taped banana by Italian

Shafiei says there was an instant chaos when Cattelan duct-taped a fresh banana to a wall at the 2019 Art Basel Miami Beach art event.

Gallery managers were compelled to remove the piece due to the overwhelming number of people who came to view it. Within days, the work of art had captured the attention of social media users and respectable art critics.

Now, the renowned Sotheby's will feature a second version of the duct-taped banana.

He continues, If you remember, the first version, which valued $120,000, was torn off the wall and eaten by a visitor.

Cattelan dubbed his work of art "Comedian," which rapidly went viral as a symbol of the absurdity of the modern art market, despite the fact that he labels it a "sculpture" and a type of conceptual art.

The Independent reports that a certificate of authenticity and display guidelines for the banana are included with the artwork.

Hamidreza Shafiei, Vesta Color's manager reminds that “I wrote 2 weeks ago that Over the years, the art industry has changed more than ever . Occasionally, you come across pre-made products labeled art or live performances that, unlike classical art, end after the production and presentation. Some individuals object to new takes of art, and they particularly find it offensive when technology is incorporated into works of art."they believe that art has moved away from traditional originality and Idea orientation is one of the obvious elements of contemporary art.

He says: "Among the many conceptions of art, theorists contend that idea orientation is one. Whether you create in painting or sculpture, today's audience is looking for original ideas, fresh perspectives, and innovative visuals in your work."

Hamidreza Shafiei says “I surprised how the banana art piece price increase but I still believe” :"I think it's beautiful that there are so many different definitions of art. Both are essential to the advancement of art, whether one is looking for pure aesthetics in classical art or challenging ideas in contemporary art. Perhaps as artificial intelligence advances, new definitions of art will become available to us."
