Artdayme: Aisha Alabbar Gallery is currently presenting The Scent of Memories (Sept. 13 — Nov. 2), Emirati artist Najat Makki’s second solo exhibition with the gallery.

Najat is a pioneering figure within the local art community, and her profound insights into the relationship between colour and the memories associated with specific places have significantly enriched the depth and diversity of her expression.

 Najat Makki awarded French honour of Chevalier

Dr. Najat Makki has been bestowed the distinction of France’s ‘Ordre des Arts et des Lettres’ (Order of the Arts and the Letters) as Chevalier. This honour is bestowed by the French Ministry of Culture and coincides with Dr. Makki’s second solo exhibition, "The Scent of Memories", now showing at Aisha Alabbar Gallery.

H.E. Nicolas Niemtchinow, Ambassador of France to the UAE, awarded Dr. Makki the insignia in recognition of her significant artistic contribution to the region and beyond.
