Kutubna Cultural Centre hosts ‘One Hundred Years of Painting: Arab Art from 1916 to 2017’ exhibition

It features 27 paintings drawn from two collections of Arab art in Dubai, the International House Group collection and Al Noon Residence collection.

ArtDayME: The Kutubna Cultural Centre in Dubai celebrates its official launch with an expansive art exhibition showcasing a century of Arab painting.

The exhibit, which includes but is not limited to landscapes, still life, abstract works, and calligraphy, spotlights the work of important artists from the history of art that emerged from Arab countries. The collection brings to light the evolution of painting in the region and includes various styles of painting, from cubism such as “Red Rooster” by Shaker Hassan (Iraq) and abstract works such as “View of Qannoubine Valley” by Saliba Douaihy (Lebanon) to surrealism such as “Bride of the Nile” by Farghali Abdel Hafez (Egypt) and “Persons” by Fateh Moudarres (Syria).
