ArtDayME: Albareh Art Space in Manama hosts Resmi AlKhafaji's new exhibition titled “Gateway to the Sun’s Path“.

This exhibition is inspired by the epic of Gilgamesh, the legendary king of Uruk, who sought immortality after abandoning a life of indulgence and violence. His journey took him to the “Gate of the Sun’s Path,” where he faced battles and challenges before meeting Utnapishtim, a survivor of the Great Flood.

Utnapishtim revealed the secret of the Flower of Immortality, which Gilgamesh ultimately lost to a serpent, leading him to realize that immortality lies in one’s deeds, not eternal life. The exhibition also highlights the Sumerians’ connection to Dilmun, a mythical paradise where they hoped to grant eternal peace to their dead.

The exhibition continues until the end of October.
