Muhannad Shono's "What Remains" is on view at Desert X - photos

ArtDayME: Desert X is an international, site-specific art exhibition open through May 11 in the Coachella Valley curated by Desert X Artistic Director Neville Wakefield and Co-curator Kaitlin Garcia-Maestas.

One of the 11 artists exhibiting work is Athr Gallery's Muhannad Shono, whose piece "What Remains" is located at Avenue 38, Thousand Palms (33.772879, -116.319639).

In "What Remains," Muhannad Shono presents a version of land without a fixed identity, continuously shaped and reshaped by nature’s forces. This installation allows the wind and other natural elements into the work as a collaborator, encouraging the shape-shifting nature of the piece to reflect the ever-changing state of the dunes upon which it has been placed.
