ArtDayME: Have you spotted this artwork on your trip to Jumeirah Beach? 

Created from recycled materials by artist Dr. Jassim Alawadhi, this bright and bold sculpture pays tribute to the Arabian Peninsula’s connection between sky and water, desert and earth.

‘Waves of Imagination’ is a hopeful symbol of Dubai’s energy and optimistic spirit, as well as a signal of the city’s turn to sustainability.

Jassim Al Awadhi is an Emirati photographer who holds a master’s degree in Photography from Nottingham-Trent University in the United Kingdom. A forensic expert with the Dubai Police, he worked as the Head of the Photography Department for Forensics and as a deputy lecturer at the Faculty of Arts in Sharjah University.

Al Awadhi also served as the Secretary-General of the Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Photography Award as well as the president of the Abu Dhabi International Association of Photography. He has also judged and chaired several photography and art competitions in the United Arab Emirates.
