Between Sands and Stars’s exhibition curated by Narges Soleimanzadeh at the UPSTAIRS GALLERY Dubai
ArtDayMe: These days art exhibition Between Sands and Stars is being held at the UPSTAIRS GALLERY in Goshi Warehouse Village, AlQuoz, Dubai. The exhibition, which will run until December 21st, pays a heartfelt tribute to the United Arab Emirates' (UAE) spirit of discovery, dreams, and belonging, marking the country's 53rd National Day, Eid Al Etihad.
Curated by Narges Soleimanzadeh, Founding Director of SAKKU, Between Sands and Stars is a collaborative effort between SAKKU and Ferment Art Cafe (UPSTAIRS). The exhibition brings together 22 talented artists from across the globe to explore the rich heritage, vibrant culture, and dynamic diversity of the UAE, while also reflecting on the country's ambition for growth and greatness.
A notable highlight of the exhibition is the participation of Emirati visual artist Mr. Khalil Abdulwahid, who is also the Visual Arts Manager at Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (DCAA). He contributed two compelling video art pieces, further enhancing the theme of the show with a unique Emirati perspective.
The opening night saw a great turnout, with many distinguished figures from Dubai’s art scene in attendance. Notable guests included Mr. Abdulmonem Alserkal, the owner of Alserkal Avenue, Abdullah Al Maaina, the designer of UAE falg, and Khalil Abdulwahid, along with many other influential members of the artistic community. Guests enjoyed the artwork and engaged in thoughtful discussions surrounding the exhibition's themes of unity, heritage, and ambition.
Between Sands and Stars featured works by Shiba Khan, Chayun Lee, Clarisse Meneghetti, Daria Avdeeva, Fatma AlShehhi, Katherine Ojeda, Kosha Tarsaria, Maryam Maslahati, Mohammad Yala, Naura Fathima, Nirvana Dabbah, Ozlem Cuhadar ,Rooha Dabbaghian, Su Kallen, Sally Shemy, Salama Al Mazrouei, Sepideh Mousavi,Tarek AlHasan, Washington Rhodes,Ymke Raymakers, and Yun.
Between Sands and Stars will remain on display at UPSTAIRS GALLERY until December 21st.
