ArtDayME: “Ahmed Mater: Antenna” is now open for public viewing at UCCA Edge.

The exhibition marks the first institutional solo show of a contemporary Saudi Arabian artist in China. Featuring over 100 works, this integrated view of the artist’s creative journey spans photography, found objects, multimedia installations and more. 

“Ahmed Mater: Antenna”  is poised to introduce Chinese audiences to innovative aspects of contemporary Saudi art and offers a unique perspective of Saudi Arabia’s history and contemporary culture. 

Curated by UCCA Director Philip Tinari, “Ahmed Mater: Antenna” is presented by the Saudi Visual Arts Commission, one of 11 sector specific commissions under the Ministry of Culture.

The exhibition is on view at UCCA Edge in Shanghai until June 8, 2025.
