The biennial, titled “to carry,” is curated by Alia Swastika, Amal Khalaf, Megan Tamati-Quennell, Natasha Ginwala, and Zeynep Öz.
Organized by Sharjah Art Foundation as part of its Fall 2024 program, both exhibitions showcase diverse works by two international artists who express themselves through various artistic disciplines such as storytelling, visual and audio performances.
Featured this autumn are the first survey exhibition of Māori artist Emily Karaka, a travelling exhibition of deeply poetic works by French-Moroccan artist Bouchra Khalili, the first solo exhibition focusing on the theatre practice of renowned South African artist William Kentridge and a retrospective of works by Brazilian artist Antonio Dias.
Drawing Time: Duets brings to life an expansive history of drawing through rarely seen works from the Sharjah Art Foundation Collection, which collectively explore the concept of the double or the pair.
