Salem bin Abdulrahman opens “I Am Here” art exhibition at Sharjah Art Museum

ArtDayME: Sheikh Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Ruler's Office, opened an art exhibition called “I Am Here: Redefining Disability in the World of Art” on Saturday afternoon. The exhibition, organized by the Art for All Center of the Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services in cooperation with the Sharjah Museums Authority, features the work of 34 artists. It is on display at the Sharjah Art Museum until June 10.
Sheikh Salem visited an art exhibition showcasing the creative talents of artists with disabilities. He listened to detailed explanations of the artworks, which reflect the artists' unique perspectives on disability and their ambitious artistic visions.
The exhibition represents an artistic and cultural tributary that fulfils the vision of the Art for All Center and its sustainable mission to build bridges of communication between artists with disabilities and their non-disabled peers. The exhibition brings together 34 male and female artists affiliated with the Center who present more than 84 artistic paintings and creative works.
The exhibition is all about showcasing the talents of creative and inspiring people with disabilities. It aims to give everyone an equal chance to shine in the art and culture world.
The exhibition opening was attended by important people including Aisha Rashid Dimas, who is the Director General of the Sharjah Museums Authority, Mona Abdul Karim Al Yafei, who is the Director General of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, and Abdullah Sultan bin Selumah, who is the Director of Al Bataeh Municipality.
