What happens at Dubai Design Week 2023?

ArtDayME: Dubai Design Week, in strategic partnership with Dubai Design District (d3), returns for its ninth season, 7-12 November.
Dubai Design Week hosts a diverse programme of events and activities, including large-scale installations, new commissions, exhibitions, pop-ups, talks, workshops, a weekend market and the leading design fair in the region, Downtown Design.
Featuring a range of design disciplines, including architecture, product design, interiors and multimedia, the festival sees designers from across the globe coming together to exchange ideas and demonstrate the positive impact that can be fostered through design.
In the following, the Dubai Design Week programmes are introduced:
Abwab
Dedicated to commissioning work from across the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia, to highlight regional creative talent and stimulate cultural exchange.
Urban Commissions
An annual design competition inviting designers and architects to develop innovative outdoor furniture, adhering to a responsible design approach.
Installations
Installations by leading and emerging designers, architects and brands from around the globe demonstrating the possibilities of design and imagination.
Exhibitions
Curated experiences, featuring design disciplines and practitioners, that offer a space for education, critical discourse and dialogue.
Talks
Bringing together regional and international creative practitioners and thought-leaders to exchange ideas and foster debate.
Dontown Design
The region's leading fair for contemporary and quality design, featuring the latest collections and design products. 8 - 11 November.
Workshops
A programme for visitors of all ages to inspire and elevate skills across design disciplines, hosted by professors, expert facilitators and creative practitioners.
Marketplace
A curated offering of handcrafted goods and sustainably sourced products by artisans and small businesses, alongside food pop-ups and children's activities. 11 - 12 November.
