Highlights of public art installations in Doha; From Jeff Koons and Damien Hirst to Middle Eastern artists
ArtDayME: The Qatar Museums (QM) Public Art Department is responsible for overseeing the installation of artwork by renowned artists in the public realm in Qatar, creating an artist residency program for young local artists to help them develop their skills,organizing exhibitions featuring international artists and developing an online community of both local and international creative talents.
The QM intends to develop Qatar into a world-class cultural destination, notably in modern and contemporary art. Therefore, dozens of public arts have been installed and exposed to the public in the city of Doha.
Along with works by Qatari artists and famous Middle Eastern artists such as Ghada Al Khater, Najla El Zein, eL Seed, Ahmed Al Bahrani, Monira Al Qadiri,and Aisha Nasser Al Sowaidi, works by world famous artists such as Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons and Louise Bourgeois have been installed in different areas of Doha.
